Spring News!

BRHBOSHOW6As we ramp up to another summer season here on the Eastern Shore, things are as busy as ever.

ICYM some of the big recent news, here’s a brief recap:

1. Due to sweeping budget cuts, my award winning public radio show “Coastal Connection” was cancelled at the end of January after 4 and a half years on the airwaves.  I’ll also be leaving WAMU 88.5 FM in Washington in May to pursue the next chapter of my journalism career.  More on that TBA.

2. I launched a new web series called “Curtain Call: Historic Theaters of the Eastern Shore” which you can find on the “videos” page of this website or here: https://www.youtube.com/user/bryandrusso

3. Musically, I was honored to open for the formidable Texas based blues trio The Los Lonely Boys and the Grammy-nominated blues powerhouse “Heritage Blues Orchestra” in March.  Both shows were awesome.  Here’s a video from the Los Lonely Boys show.  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_QTENMsBX-A

4. I have been sponsored by PRS Guitars and will be playing the amazing S2 Mira (semi-hollow) as my main guitar from here on out.  It’s as classy sounding as it is aesthetically stunning (see pic above)

5. I have a huge project in the works….and it has been keeping me up at night with excitement.  I can’t wait to share it with you.

There’s the recap…please check out the “shows” page to find out where to see a show and I hope to see you soon!

BR sponsored by PRS Guitars

I’m so incredibly proud to announce that I have become apart of the Paul Reed Smith artist roster with a guitar sponsorship deal.

My main guitar will now be a vintage white Semi-hollow body Mira from PRS’s S2 series.

I’ll include more details in the days to come, but I can’t tell you how incredibly honored and humbled to be playing one of these iconic guitars that were built right here on the Eastern Shore of Maryland.

(I don’t usually take selfies in the mirror, but when i do, I’m holding a PRS backstage at a show).

BR Opens for Los Lonely Boys

In a last minute turn of events, BR opened for Los Lonely Boys on St. Paddy’s Day in Wilmington, DE.  It was a fantastic show, and it was an honor to share the stage with blues masters like the Texas based trio.

If you missed the show, no worries…BR will be back in Wilmington on the 26th of March at World Cafe Live at the Queen Theatre at 8pm with Heritage Blues Orchestra.  (see “shows” for details)

Enjoy the first episode, and know that I’m planning trips to many other theaters throughout the coastal region…from Delaware, to MD, to VA.

New Site Design Coming Soon!

We are under construction to build up a new site that is easier to use, and incorporates video and audio.  I believe the web people call it a more “dynamic Internet presence”, so please be patient with finding shows and information.

Follow me on Facebook or Twitter for more information, and check out the trailer for a new web series I’m developing.

And in other news, we have received word that due to illness, blues legend James Cotton has been forced to cancel this leg of his tour, and that unfortunately includes our scheduled show with him on Dec 9 in Wilmington.

We will let you know if and when it’s rescheduled, and in the interim, we wish Cotton a quick and speedy recovery.
