Recently, I was honored with a regional Edward R. Murrow Award for a public radio piece I did on homelessness here on the coast.

The piece is called “Homeless in Hobo Woods” and if you are so inclined, you can listen to it here:

BR composes music for New Film at Babe Ruth Museum in Baltimore

Check this out….

I composed the music (and wrote the script) for this really cool cine-mapping project that now sits at the Babe Ruth Birthplace Museum in Balitmore, MD.

It opened to the public February 8th, 2013.

The 8 minute film tells the story of how the Star Spangled Banner became linked to sporting events, particularly, Major League Baseball, which of course, goes all the way back to the 1918 world series.

Here is a link to the film, but if you find yourself in Baltimore, go see this.  It is extremely patriotic and moving.

BR coming back to Baltimore and Annapolis

We are putting together a very exciting run of shows in the first quarter of 2013, but two shows we’d like to point out straight away are February 17 at Rammshead Live in Baltimore, MD and March 29 at Red Red Wine Bar in Annapolis.

Both shows will feature BR with his band The Tragic Figures.

In addition, the composing project BR has been working on alongside Cam Uhlig of Camagine Design (also the director of BR’s video for Smokey Cafe) for several months is soon to be launched to the public.

The launch will be at the Babe Ruth Museum in Baltimore, and we will give more details very soon.

If you would like discount tickets to the Feb 17 show at Rammshead Live, contact Brian Dunn at peopletreeproductions@gmail.com.

And don’t forget to spread the word about “Sound the Alarms” to your local radio station wherever you are in the world, and if you haven’t picked it up yet, it’s on I Tunes, CDbaby and all other major digital suppliers.  Or you can do it old school, and buy it at a show.

Happy Holidays From BR

As we enter into the home stretch of 2012, I want to thank each and every one of your for your support on what’s been a great year.

I’ve been taking it light on gigs a bit to finish up some composing projects and write some new songs for a new EP that I’ll be releasing online in the spring.

Gigs For the rest of 2012 are as follows:

DEC 21 @ The Cultured Pearl in Rehoboth Beach DE (8pm solo show)

DEC 29 @ Matteo’s in Fenwick Island DE (9pm w. band)

JAN 1 @ City Hall in Ocean City, MD (1pm solo show) (Playing the Mayor’s Annual New Year’s Day Event)

As we enter 2013, there’s some big things on the horizon like heading back to Philly, Baltimore, and DC, as well as the opening of the big project I just finished.  Let’s just say it has to do with baseball and America.

In addition, ALL digital sales of “Sound the Alarms” will go directly to the PJ Aldridge Foundation as they fight to find a cure for lung cancer.  For those of you that don’t know, the title track of the record is the official song of the foundation and a portion of the proceeds from “Sound the Alarms” go directly for finding a cure for lung cancer.  But since it’s the holidays, we are giving it all back for the next few weeks.

So, download a copy of the record for you or one of your loved ones this holiday season, and help fight lung cancer all at the same time.

Get the new record here. https://itunes.apple.com/us/album/sound-the-alarms/id547928477

Happy Holidays to you all.

BR coming to DC in support of Donovan Frankenreiter

I am pleased to announce that I will be coming to Washington DC on Saturday, Nov 3 in support of world renowned surfer and songster Donovan Frankenreiter.

I will be playing the show solo and I will be direct support of DF, as I believe his camp is running some sort of a contest which looks for other local openers on his current tour.

So, with that said, there will likely be another artist that opens the show….then me….then Donovan.

The show is at the U Street Music Hall and it’s an all ages affair.

Get your tickets by clicking here

Also, we are working on getting some things put up here on the site as far as t shirts and a link to buy the album direct….until then, here is the link to buy “Sound the Alarms” and all my previous work on Itunes.

best and hope to see you in DC on 11/3 or somewhere else down the road.

Legends of the “Fall”

Folks,

Here’s a quick look at what’s coming up for fall:  On the short term,  This week is one that you can’t miss….and I’m not just trying to “fear of loss you” with tactics I learned when I was a door to door salesman.

I’ll be doing two shows (that’s right, two) with bass virtuoso Seth Horan on 9/20 and 9/21.

If you’ve never seen Seth Horan play…..google his name…then watch and listen…then repeat.

both shows are at 8pm there will be one in Maryland (Burley Oak Brewery) and one in Delaware (The Cultured Pearl) so everyone gets a chance to come. (see shows page for details)

Also, I will be featuring at the 11th annual Dewey Beach Music Conference on 9/22 at 11pm at Jimmy’s Grille (across from the Bottle and Cork).

And the new record is on Itunes now, and it’s been very well received in the early weeks by fans and critics and I can’t thank you all enough for the support.  You can purchase it by clicking here.  http://itunes.apple.com/us/album/sound-the-alarms/id547928477

We are still finalizing the fall schedule for gigs, and those will be announced as they come, but we have some big things in the works, but if the schedule looks light, it’s just that I am trying to finish a musical score for an entity that i can’t even believe i have the privilege to work with.

It’s been a great past few months….here’s some of the highlights.

–played in front of thousands at the Wells Fargo Center in Philly in March before the Black Keys and Arctic Monkeys show

–opened for G Love in August at Seacrets in Ocean City, MD

–scored a documentary for a nationally distributed NPR program on education.

–Produced Ocean City’s “Official Song of Summer” Contest Winner Chuck Conjar’s “Ocean City Days”.

–Released my new record, “Sound the Alarms”

–currently scoring another project with more “National” implications than i can actually fathom right now.

It’s been a great year thus far.  Please help me keep spreading the word, as the ball is rolling and it’s picking up speed.

best, and thanks.
